Abstract: A critical analysis; primarily on narratives, oral literature, etymology, and linguistics of the Yorùbá, Akan, Ewe, Fon, Khanitu and Kamau. In African cosmology; what is defined as god in Western belief does not exist and is irrelative to African Philosophy. Issues such as patriarchy and gender inequality, has its foundation in the lack of understanding African Cosmology. The ideology of god promotes a cognitive arrest and spiritual underdevelopment. The sentient is to be aware of hybridized concepts that were introduced to Black African people through European colonization & Black African enslavement.
